FYI: According to Records The Solana family of St. Augustine, Florida is apparently the oldest documented family in the United States insofar as church records are concerned - having married at the Cathedral of St. Augustine on July 4, 1594! If you ever get to St. Augustine Florida, visit their house on the tour. It still stands!

Time Saving Tip for Genealogy

Have a good collection of Maps. Beginner genealogists will probably want a blank pedigree chart, family group form, and good map. A book of Road Maps, Atlas and Encylopedia are good starts if they show your town. Remember, contemporary maps show things the way they are, and historic maps show how things were. Historic maps don't have to be old - those are antique maps :)
